This is NoiseZero: Cut Silence, Remove Um, Kill Noise's own detailed draft of its terms, written to accurately reflect how the app, the free web tools, and billing actually work today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer — that review is still required before public launch.
Agreement to these terms
By downloading, installing, or using NoiseZero — the app or the free tools on this site — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use them. We may update these terms as the product changes; see “Changes to these terms” below for how we handle that.
Who can use NoiseZero
You must be at least 13 years old to use the app or the free tools. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission, consistent with Google Play's own age requirements.
What the service includes
In the app: recording, on-device silence cutting, and the free on-device noise-reduction pass are free and unlimited, with no account required. Cloud noise restoration and AI filler-word removal are metered by AI Minutes — earned via a free trial, rewarded ads, a Pro subscription, or a top-up purchase — or included unlimited with Pro, depending on the feature and plan shown in the app at the time.
Free web tools
The tools at /tools are provided as-is, free of charge, with no account required. Files you process there stay in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers — the silence-cutting math and the filler-word matching both run entirely client-side.
Accounts and AI Minutes
An anonymous device ID is enough to use the app; signing in with Google keeps your AI-Minutes balance and projects synced if you switch devices. AI-Minutes balances are held on our servers, not just your device, so they can't be edited by tampering with the app.
Purchases and subscriptions
AI-Minutes top-ups are one-time consumable purchases. The Pro subscription renews automatically at the price shown at purchase until you cancel it in Google Play's subscription settings. Prices and what a plan includes may change for future billing periods — we'll show the current terms before you buy or renew. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy — we don't process refunds directly.
Your recordings, your content
You own what you record. We don't claim any rights to your audio beyond what's needed to process it — running it through on-device silence detection, or, if you opt in, uploading it briefly for AI filler-word removal or cloud noise restoration. You're responsible for having the rights to record and process whatever audio you use with NoiseZero.
Acceptable use
Don't use NoiseZero to record someone without the consent required where you are, and don't use it to process content that's illegal to possess or distribute. We can suspend or terminate access for accounts that abuse the service, including AI-Minutes farming, attempts to tamper with the server-held balance, reverse-engineering the app, or interfering with other users' access to it.
Third-party services
Parts of NoiseZero depend on services we don't control — Google Play (distribution and billing), RevenueCat (subscription management), Deepgram (speech recognition), and Google AdMob (ads). Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' own terms, and we're not responsible for their availability or changes to how they work.
No warranty
NoiseZero is provided as-is. We work hard to make silence and filler-word cuts sound natural, but we don't guarantee a specific result on every recording — audio quality, accents, and background noise all affect what the AI detects. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, NoiseZero and its team aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or web tools, including lost recordings or lost AI Minutes from a service interruption — our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, if any.
Termination
You can stop using the app or the web tools at any time. We can suspend or terminate your access for violating these terms, particularly the acceptable-use section above. Terminating your access doesn't entitle you to a refund of AI Minutes or subscription time already used or elapsed, beyond what Google Play's refund policy separately provides.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. For a change that matters — pricing, what's included in a plan, or your rights — we'll show a notice in the app or on this page rather than silently updating it. Continuing to use NoiseZero after that means you accept the revised terms.
